Hm..I'm sure there was, but I never went to one! Damn them! Actually, the orientation was more than enough for me (like 8 hours or something).

Contact the university directly to ask - the website is notoriously difficult to eke information from.

yeah seems that way. i went to the website though and the contact deatails has a note that it is currently under review and may be incorrect. I have another question for them about if you get made an offer and decide not to take it whether that you cant apply for another 2 years. I dont think that is the case i think it only applies if you accept it then pull out but I would like to check.

hey mate, it's not true that you have to wait 2 years if you turn an offer down.
I was at the GC info night for med - there were a lot of good questions.

Yea i did a bit more reading and it seems that if you accept an offer then ditch it then you have to wait. Im going to go to the Nathan one on tuesday. I wished I had the time/known about the tuesday night I would have gone.

Cheers

I can't make the Griffith information night. Could someone ask someone well connected with admissions at this event what they expect the cut off to be this year?

Quiz them also about the effect of the 30 fewer places made available because they have been reserved for those griffith undergrads expected to graduate from their accelerated course this year. I would think this would cause the cut off to rise considerably.

I agree that the cut off may rise because of the fewer less places but this years exam was harder so a 57 this year is actually better than last year so it could be very similar

I thought the results were 'levelled' each year?

so a 57 might mean a lower actual exam mark, but it is still a true reflection of your percentile ranking?

Yes thats true too lovebite. We should actually be refering to each school as what percentile were offered interviews. Either way a 57 this year is a higher percentile than last year (so less people), because there are less places (30 go to the reserved places) 57 maybe the cut off or it may go up or down a little. It seems to be hard to judg every year depending on the exam, who applies and the number of places. If the very top all applied to griffith in the same year the cut uff would be extreme. There seems to be a certain amount of luck in what school you apply for.
