I'm actually a little bit confused about what I'm supposed to do now that I have sat the gamsat. Do I need to go to the websites of all the universities I'm interested in doing med in and finding out how to apply for their interviews? Or am I supposed to send application to ACER and they'll basically process things for me? They also say in the info book that I'm supposed to regularly check GAMSAT website for information regarding stuff, but what kind of stuff am I particularly paying attention to? Are we going to continue to receive e-mails from ACER reminding us of important due dates? I'm confused about how things work and the order they're meant to be in. Anything in particular I should be doing NOW? Like looking for interview techniques?

There's nothing official you can do til May. The results are released in the middle of May (last year was the 15th); they will tell you via the email address you would have supplied when registering for the GAMSAT. On the GAMSAT website, the online application and GPA calculator will open in May (before the results are released) to apply for ALL the grad courses.

You don't really have to look into the uni websites individually (unless you want any detailed course info) because everything you need to know about applying will be in the application guide, which as I recall is released when the applications open in May. You can look through last years one, but things can change a little (e.g. Melbourne took nobody this year but will next year).

If there are new things you can do, they are normally pretty obvious on the main page of the website.

To apply, it goes through one application (for each course type, e.g. Med is one), you put in preferences for which unis and you have until June, so once you get your results you can think it over with no rush. Then you have to do the GPA calculation and send them a transcript.

For now, I'd practice interview techniques and look into the best options of unis to apply to. Each uni has slightly different criteria and ways they look at your results, so familiarise yourself with all the courses so when you get your GAMSAT results you have an idea of which preferences to put down.

There are a few unis which have a weird application though, like Wollongong and NDS need extra forms when applying.

I find it pretty alarming that theyve decided you should be tutoring and have not seen fit to tell you what they want you to be doing. Are you the only one with an assistantship or something?
