Hi !
I have two questions
Firstly Can somebody please advise me if the essay section on GAMSAT is hand written or typed

Secondly what are the admission criteria for international graduated students, on PR status, with regards to GPA calculation.

Thankyou for your time and advice.
Regards

It's hand written... Cause it's a bit hard to sneak a laptop and usb printer past the proctors Wink
You need to keep in mind that you need to be able to write a lot (1.5-2 pages per question) and do it neatly. The marking staff can't give you a good grade if they can't read it.

Acer don't actually give details probably due to the sheer number of international uni's that students can apply from. I suspect that they probably reserve the right to weight scores based on the credibility of the uni on an application by application basis. Take a look at page 16 of the Admission Guide.
gamsat.acer.edu.au/images/documents/gmac_guide2012.pdf

"Applicants whose Bachelor degrees are from universities outside Australia will not be able to calculate a Grade Point Average (GPA) using the conversion scales. It is however, essential that all international applicants submit official academic transcripts with their application forms. Alternatively you can arrange for your institution to post official transcripts directly to the Admissions Centre at ACER.
Foreign language transcripts must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
In all cases, sufficient details of the grading or assessment system used must be provided so that admissions committees can adequately assess the level of performance in the Bachelor degree."

The thing to keep in mind is that you will need the equivalent of approx 5.5 or better out of a max 7.0 (which equates to a Credit avg) to run a realistic chance at most universities.
