Any of you thinking of buying PREPGENIE I would not recommend it. The course content is like a cut and paste out of a text book. It is a total waste of money. I tried to get a refund but of course that was not possible as the course comes from India and I am pretty sure they do not even have the GAMSAT there. DO NOT BUY IT thats the only way to get rid of these crappy courses.

Yeah, I got suckered into prepgenie too. Epic fail.

If anyone else has had direct experience with prepgenie, send me a message. I'm writing a petition to ACER to have them *specifically* warn candidates about numerous complaints specifically against prepgenie. The more signatures the better.

Thanks guys and how unfortunate that you had to waste money Mad This is all so daunting to a mum of 2, but this forum has been so great.

hey guys,

I took the gamsat this year for the first time (2nd year student) and prepgenie was the first program i bought.

I only got the humanities section, and when i got it, I agree, it was dissapointing in regards to the content. the MC answers where mismatched and only a few answers had explanations.

I expressed my dissatisfaction on this forum and they e-mailed me quite soon after apologizing and sent me a revised copy of the humanities section, which was fantastic. explanations were clear and the format/style of questions are very similar to the actual GAMSAT content.

I dont know, but those of you already purchased the course, they will probably be in contact.... my confidence was shot at first, but i saw a steady improvement in my scores each time.

I only know about gold standard courses which i found to be a copy of the MCAT and is surprisingly different in format to the GAMSAT. Will be trying the Des O'Neil course this time around, but still sticking to prep genie, because it really helped me get my score in section 1.

It is difficult to overcome the 'once bitten, twice shy' mindset but the second one i got was brilliant. To each his own i guess.

hi guys,
I am a science postgraduate and working at the moment. I am planing to sit for GAMSAT only when I feel prepared enough so want to start preparing for it as soon as I can.
I was thinking to get Gold standard textbook for GAMSAT, to begin get familiarise with the pattern and all the sections. But after reading this post, I am in doubt. Confused I know its about PREPGENIE but would like to know If anyone has used GOld standard textbook for GAMSAT nad what do you think about it? IS it worth spending couple of hundred dollars on it?

Hi everyone

I have no intention of sock puppeting here so please don't take the following as any form of endorsement. All I can relay are the facts.

I'm a doctor who graduated 2010 in South Australia. I've seen the PrepGenie materials as well as most of the others (my wife is trying to get in to medical school) and I concur that in the past the standard has been low.

However I can attest that large amounts of time and money have been spent by the owners of this particular company to rewrite, improve and review their content and I have seen a genuine commitment to improvment.

They have done so by retaining the services of several freelance writers and reviewers (I am one of them) with medical doctorates or high level tertiary qualifications. Apart from this freelance relationship I have no conflict of interest (ie I do not receive any comission for this statement).

Good luck in your attempts for 2012 people.
