I have a GPA of 5.7, which is a little unfortunate (failed one unit), but I'm really hoping that with a dedicated program of study I'll be able to bring my knowledge and test-taking skills up for a good GAMSAT score, then I just have to wow them at interview Very Happy If nothing else, the test looks like fun.

My favoured school is UWA, but I'm in the process of looking at other schools in the likely event I'm unlikely to get in to UWA.

hmmm

I had a GPA of 5.5 and got a CSP for 2009.

If you want UWA, you need a GAMSAT of about 64-65 to go with your GPA to have a decent shot at a BMP.

Absolutely, it's not impossible for me to get in, but I'll need a fairly good GAMSAT.

...I should be studying year 11 and 12 physics rather than posting on the internet Confused

ETA: If I hadn't failed that unit, my GPA would have been 6.2, which would be so much more useful.

what year did you fail the unit in?

UWA only consider your last 3 years, so maybe a grad dip might be in order?

Unfortunately, it was in the middle of the years, so I'd need 2 years of study to wipe it off.

In retrospect, I should have had a medical withdrawal from that unit (my uni booted me from prac because they said I was too sick) but now that I actually have my degree it's probably a little late to revise those grades.

you should have gone for a special withdrawl

maybe get your doctors reports and go and see the vice chancellor of your old uni about it

my GPA was 6.95 Smile I got a firtst round offer at UWA

my friends was 6.2 i think and she got a first round offer at ND (she didn't appply to UWA)

I think that ND only use GPA and GAMSAT to rank for an interview, and they rank for places on the interview (i "think" - not 100%)

study hard for the next exam and good luck, keep trying

Close. 60% interview, 20% GPA 20% GAMSAT
