I'm getting ready to do Gamsat Ireland in March. I've been studying since October- mainly science.
I just did a prep genie exam, the free online download. I don't think it was very accurate. Has anyone else any comments on their products?

I'm an English graduate and my performance in section one of actual gmsat papers is around 65% to 75% correct, but with prepgenie I got 50% correct.

I have a feeling that they simply try to emulate the Gamsat questions without putting thought or effort into examining you, or preparing you.

Also, poor english and grammar, as well as a heavy physics and chemistry content in the sciences would suggest to me that these exams are a poor reflection of the real deal?

However, it has put a doubt in my mind as to whether my knowledge is the problem or the poor exam is the problem here? Any advice from peers or veterans???? I need it!!

Hi dairede,

Ive been preparing for the AUS GAMSAT for a few months now and like you, i purchased preperation material from prepgenie.

I found using other materials such as gold standard, I was getting reasonably good marks for all sections, yet when I attempted the practice tests and questions, I got about 20%.

I was really disheartened, but as i went to correct them, I saw the answers were both unorganised, and in very poor english. Some answers were given for the wrong questions. Their explanations were poorly worded, and to me, seemed like there was no logic behind it. Going through a few more, i realised they are pretty much useless, and if anything, will cause you to lose heart in your ability and make you less confident thereby lowering your score (potentially).

I havent personally taken the GAMSAT myself yet, but going through the questions books sent by GAMSAT themselves, and more accredited companies/programs such as gold standard, ive seen that they are fairly similar in difficulty and structure.

I would stop using them altogether. Although it was a waste of money in my opinion, they are only hurting your confidence.

hope this reassures you!
