This is possibly a little premature, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to prepare for the interview? I understand the concept of the interview and the sorts of things they are trying to ascertain, but the specifics escape me.

For example, if they ask me if I've done any volunteer work, and I say no, are the interviewers going to feverishly being making little red marks on their sheets? What if I tell them I've suffered (mild) despression in the past? What if I tell them I really don't like my current job? etc etc.

Do these specifics matter, or are the hypothetical situations given in interviews and how you repsond to them more important.

I'd love to hear what some of you think, or if any previous interviewees have any example questions, especially from Flinders, which is my first choice.

Paul

Don't tell them you have depression or anxiety etc!!! Everyone has had this at one point so dont make it an issue. If you have to focus on a weakness, make it something that isnt really serious and that you can learn from by working on and tell them how you are working on it!

good reply, drjv - they want to see that you don't think you are perfect and that you have solutions to overcome your perceived weaknesses

Try this website:

It will give you really indepth experiences of UQ interviews. And they don't change much from year to year apparently.
