Despite my living in melbourne, my first choice will probably be deakin.
My GPA is pretty average, about 5.7ish, and melbourne said that I'd need a gamsat score in the high 70's to be competitive with that GPA (comparitively, with a GPA of 7 you need around 63). So even though I got a 73, I'm not confident.
Secondly, I did get an interview at melbourne in2003 (when I last sat gamsat) but didn't get past that, which broke my poor little heart Smile Enough that it's taken me 4 years to bother trying again! Deakin select places places not only on interview scores, but also on gamsat - I think 73 should be competitive down there, being in the 'country' (geelong), and not being as 'prestigious' as ye olde halls of melb uni.
Third preference is Griffith, because I love Wet n' Wild. Awesome fun.

I'm interested in other people's thoughts on preferences for Victorian uni's, what they're leaning towards and why.

Deakin for the same reasons but with the medical studies/experience in clinical I should have a chance. Flinders would be nice but I think the same as you - too hard and I don't think I could bear the rejection.. Could do with a change to the country .... GPA is about the same but the gamsat result was only 58

For Victorian posters who haven't yet heard, there's an information evening Monday 28th May at Deakin's Geelong campus. Maybe I'll meet some of you!

For the sake of completeness, uni melb's info afternoon is from 4-7pm the coming Tuesday, at the Melbourne town hall. It's for all post-grad courses, but representatives from the med faculty will be there to answer questions and no doubt shake your hand and wish you luck and pretend like you've got a chance. Shocked

I can't make that one, work Sad
