The link is on the front page of the http://gamsat.acer.edu.au website.

However, I think I've spotted an inconsistency: Monash Gippsland appeared to have waived the 10 year since Bachelor degree rule on their website, but in the guide, it says Monash is part of the cohort (ie. all schools except Flinders) that apply it.
MMM......cuts me out of the race all together if that's the case

Yeah the link wasn't working, so I emailled communications. I got a reply in about 5 minutes from an effusive woman telling me it would have been a disaster if it stayed that way.

Okay lady.

YEAH! 2008 Guide is up! What is everyone's first choice? I'm trying to decide between UQ and Griffith.

Driv, it's tough because both of those are awful medical schools, from what I hear.
Apparently If you want a good medical education, you should consider Sydney or Melbourne.
You should reconsider.

I'm applying for GU #1, UQ #2.

Very Happy

Haha thanks adrian, I was panicing for a second there!

I live half way between UQ and Griffith location doesn't matter to me, I see you live on the GC, is that major factor in putting GU 1st?

That's one of them. The other is that I live a mere 5 minute walk from the medical school. But the main reason is that the new Gold Coast hospital is also going to be the Griffith teaching hospital, so the teaching opportunities between the uni and the hospital appeals to me.

The guide mentions that if percentage grades and letter grades are available on an academic transcript, the percentages are to be used to calculate the GPA. However many of the medical schools only use grades NOT percentages when calculating GPA. So which one is it??? Im really confused here guys. What do you think???

Hi Nicole
All schools bar Flinders and the new Monash Gippsland require you to have completed your Bachelors degree within 10 years of applying/starting. If you haven't you need to prove at least one year of full time study since.
It's more than 10 years since my last degree, or study for that matter, so I cannot apply to most schools.
GAMSAT scores have not been published yet so in answer to your second question....no idea!

To the person who said some schools ignore your raw marks and use grades when calculating GPA - where is this referenced please?

Hi p2409, UQ clearly state on their website AND in the admission guide that they use grades not percentages in calculating the GPA. In the admission guide look up the page for UQ entry requirements.

Hi SpaceAge
Is it only UQ (and maybe UWA - not that clear on guide) that use grades vs. marks? Other schools in guide just say 'GPA' I think ie. I presumed they used the ACER scoring system.

Hey p2409, I noticed you are also from Melbourne, are you considering Monash and Deakin in your preferences?

Can only apply Monash and Flinders due >10 years since last degree. Not really sure about whole thing - registered for GAMSAT on last day because I had a bit of time on my hands!

Hi. I'm from Mebourne and will be applying for med in 2009. From what I have read, I only thought the uni of Melbourne was the only post-grad med school in Victoria that you could apply for! From your messages, you suggest that Monash and Deakin also offer post-grad, is this right?
